About

Hello, my name is Karen and I’m a writer.

I’m a writer in the ‘anyone with a piece of paper or a keyboard‘ sense of the word. I have the ability to string words together and I love to do it.

I intend to use this blog as an area for connecting with others. No master plan currently  but I hope you enjoy my random thoughts.

I blogged sporadically over the years. First, I wrote about empty-nesting when my children left home. Blogging helped me get past that slap in the face while connecting with others in the same situation.

Since that time, I’ve done a few posts here and there.

Over the years, subject matter has changed but what hasn’t changed is, I still need at least a dozen revisions before I have the nerve to publish and, just as I do publish, I spot one more mistake.

I  value advice from anyone who visits my spot. With your help, I hope to grow as a writer.

Enjoy!

  1. Hi, recently my blog, Not Pretending (to be sane) has been nominated for the Liebster Award.
Part of the rules is to nominate 11 up and coming blogs. One of the blogs I am nominating is your blog. If you are interested to participate in this bloggers award (and if you have not received the same nomination before), please visit my post:
It’s Like The Oscars… But Not.
Once you accept the nomination, please send me the link to your Liebster Award post. I do want to know more about my fellow bloggers whose blog I find very interesting and inspirational to other bloggers. Thank you, and happy blogging to you 🙂

  4. Navigating through life with humor is always the best way to go! I have just three years left till my own nest is empty and the last bird has flown away…. though he’s a mooch…so I think he will be hanging around well into his 30’s…. ha ha Always nice to meet a fellow Texan here in the blogosphere! Have a great evening! 🙂

  5. Thank you so much for visiting my blog. Yes, I am a new empty nester. My kids moved out years ago, but we have had other relatives living with us off and on.

Now, I am out of relatives who need help. Now it is just me and my husband and now after 64 years of living (gads, I am going to be 65 this year – not possible), now I am learning about living for myself – who ever that is!! 🙂

I am happy to have found you.

    • It’s quiet most of the time here without the kids but the holidays made up for it for a while. I’m right with you on learning to live with myself. I’m happy to have found you too.

  6. I am so excited that you stopped by my blog because it led me to yours! As you probably surmised from my ramblings, we are approaching the empty-nest years, so I am keeping my eyes open for guidance from others that are already in those years–just like you!

Looking forward to following your journey!
